STOP, LOOK...LIVE
We are going to take a look at Man (that’s you man !) and some of the things that afflict him. Lets do an exercise together. We will take a few of the major diseases that affect Man and then categorize which are man-made and which are nature-made (did somebody say God-made, sorry, he is the business of healing not disease-ing). Stress, Heart problems, AIDS, Cancers, Diabetes, High blood pressure, TB, etc. Whodunnit. ? You guessed right - Man. Very difficult to find nature-made diseases, isn’t it. If you do find one, please drop me a line. But it must be purely nature-made with no hand (or any other organ) of man involved in it. Now lets see if there are simply ways of Preventing these or (if possible) trying to heal some of these. (Please, please, do not stop your medical treatment and throw your medicines out the window and do my exercises.) This article is titled Stop, Look and Live. So our first step is to Stop. Stop what? Stop Living? No, Stop Dying. Every moment that you are not living to the fullest you are simply dying in that moment. Every moment of your sorrow, sadness, anxiety, anger, resentment, guilt, remorse you are simply dying. So, how to stop dying. By breathing. Breath is life (that’s simple enough). From the moment we are born to the last moment of our lives, we breathe. Learn to respect and honour that – that life is in that breath. In the Bible, we read that God breathed into man and he became a living being. Almost every religion gives importance to breath. Some even compare Breath to God. God is in the Breath that we breathe. If that is the case, then that Breath should give us Life, Healing and every other goodness. But this doesn’t seem to be happening because we are not AWARE of it. So lets do a simple exercise of Awareness. Sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes and relax. Take a deep breath to the count of 1, 2, …10. Hold your breath for 3 seconds and exhale at the count of 1 to 10. Do this just 3 times. When you breathe in, make sure you breathe in deep till your stomach, let your stomach and chest expand with the breath. When you are breathing in, imagine you are breathing in Life, God. And when you are breathing out, imagine you are breathing out your problems, anxieties, your stress etc. Stop reading this article and do this exercise. It will take just 3 minutes. Now, LOOK, how did you feel in those 3 minutes. Did you feel peaceful, happy, rested. Some of you might have even felt sleepy. What just happened was – as you relaxed and concentrated on your breathing, your brain waves came down to a level called the Alpha level. (This is something that can be verified by a Doctor with a EEG machine – this machine measures brainwaves). Now that you have looked at the Secret of how you can de-stress yourself, try that magic every time you get worked up. In any case, do this exercise 3 times a day. As soon as you get up, in the afternoon and just before you go to sleep. And now, LIVE Live life to the fullest.
